The Most High made the sun, the moon and the stars, for a specific reason.

—> Gen 1:14 “And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years.”

When you look up into the sky, the sun, moon and stars are one big gigantic CLOCK and CALENDAR. The sun is a clock and a calendar (because of its circumnavigation of the earth and its calcuable eclipses); the moon is a clock and a calendar because (1) the moon circumvents the earth (2) it changes it’s light patterns in phases/cycles (3) and it has calcuable eclipses) and the stars likewise represent a calendar.

☝☝☝ This is what The Most High has given us. We should not take the sun, the moon and the stars for granted. Now that I’m a Hebrew Israelite, every time I look up and see the celestial bodies, I smile. Because I now realize I’m actually supposed to pay attention to them, and that they weren’t arbitrarily placed up there for no specific reason.

However, we are NOT permitted to go overboard, and allow our appreciation of the heavenly bodies to turn into worship.

—> Deut 18:10-12 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, [OR AN OBSERVER OF TIMES], or an enchanter, or a witch. Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

According to Genesis 1:14, the sun, moon and stars were created for man: that when we see them, we’ll understand and know the signs, the days, months, and years; what TIME of the day it is, what TIME of the week it is, what TIME of the month it is, what TIME of the year it is; certain dates, seasons, etc… and to thus govern ourselves accordingly.

☝☝☝The observation of Genesis 1:14 is ordained and mandated by The Most High. This observation of Genesis 1:14 is NOT to be confused with the forbidden observation of Deuteronomy 18:10-12

The observation of Deuteronomy 18:10-12 is also talking about WORSHIP of the celestial bodies, divination, the zodiac, horoscopes and fortune telling:

◄ Deuteronomy 18:10 ►

Strong’s Lexicon

“Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, [practices divination [or] conjury, interprets omens], practices sorcery, casts spells, consults a medium or familiar spirit, or inquires of the dead.” – Hebrew Strong’s Concordance

◄ 7080. qasam ►

Strong’s Concordance

qasam: to practice divination

Original Word: קָסַם
Part of Speech: Verb
Transliteration: qasam
Phonetic Spelling: (kaw-sam’)
Definition: to practice divination

In Deuteronomy 18:10-12, the word divination, literally means divination. There are no alternate, flexible or subjective meanings. Just divination. And divination means:

div·i·na·tion

/ˌdivəˈnāSH(ə)n/

noun

“[THE PRACTICE OF SEEKING] knowledge of the future or the unknown by supernatural means.”

synonyms: “FORTUNE TELLING, DIVINING, FORETELLING THE FUTURE, FORECASTING THE FUTURE, PROPHECY, PREDICTION, soothsaying, augury; CLAIRVOYANCE, second sight; magic, sorcery, witchcraft, spellworking; rarevaticination, sortilege, auspication, witchery”

☝☝☝ so, ‘divination’ is “THE PRACTICE OF SEEKING —> the ability to fortune tell; SEEKING the ability to divine; SEEKING the ability to foretell the future; SEEKING the ability to forecast the future; SEEKING the ability to prophesy; SEEKING the ability to predict the future, perform witchcraft, magic, second sight (open your third eye), conjure spirits, interpret omens, practice sorcery, casts spells, inquire of the dead, or consulting a medium or familiar spirit.”

Now, the ability to prophesy in and of itself, is NOT divination. THE PRACTICE OF SEEKING THE ABILITY —> to prophesy, is divination. Meaning, you either have it or you don’t. Either you’re a prophet, or you’re trying to be a prophet. Prophecy isn’t something you LEARN HOW TO DO because you want the ability to do it. Prophecy isn’t something you PRACTICE until you have the ability to do it. Prophecy isn’t something you ACQUIRE because you desire it. You don’t choose the ability to prophesy. The ability to prophesy chooses YOU. If you’re a prophet of The Most High, your ability to prophesy is a gift you were given by The Most High, according to His will, not yours. The Most High chose you to be His prophet. The gift of prophecy was imposed upon you by The Most High, and it was His choice alone, for you to become His spokesman, not yours. It was NOT your choice to become a prophet of The Most High. The gift of prophecy is given by The Most High, at His discretion. There were good prophets in the bible, and there were wicked prophets in the bible, such as Balaam. Just because someone has the ability to prophesy, doesn’t necessarily mean they are a prophet of The Most High. And not all prophets are prophets of The Most High, otherwise there would be no logic or sensible purpose in pointing out the difference between the practice of seeking the ability to prophesy, versus actually BEING a prophet of The Most High.

The Most High can PUT THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY on whomever He wants —> see Numbers 11:17-29

The purpose of this post is simple. There’s nothing wrong with tracking the cycles, patterns and movements of the celestial bodies, knowing what they mean, and knowing how to read them for signs, seasons, days, and years. We all SHOULD. Genesis 1:14 bears witness to the fact. We are to “observe” the feast of unleavened bread (Exodus 12:17); we are to “observe” the shabbat (Exodus 31:16); we are to “observe” the feast of weeks (Exodus 34:22). We are to “observe” the feast of tabernacles (Deut 16:13). <— See how it works? The ancient Israelites didn’t have cellphones and tablets with digital reminders. They “observed” the sun, the moon and the stars to know when it was time to do this or that, and they were able to schedule these national days of observation and commemoration with laser beam precision, thanks to the movements of the sun, moon and stars.

However, we are (1) forbidden to observe the sun, moon and stars to worship them:

—> Deut 4:19 “And lest you lift up your eyes unto the heavens, and when you see the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, should be driven to worship them, and serve them, which YAHUAH ELOHAYKA has divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.”
—> Deut 17:3 “And has gone and served other elohiym [gods], and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded”

And we are (2) forbidden to observe the sun, moon and stars as a means to practice divination or conjury, interpret omens, practice sorcery, casts spells, consult mediums or familiar spirits, or inquire of the dead.

In this instance, we place emphasis on observing constellations to read the zodiac, horoscopes and the like.

*BONUS*

The wise men in the second chapter of Matthew? Were OBSERVERS OF TIMES, in direct violation of Deuteronomy 18:10-12.

—> Matthew 2:1-2 “NOW when YAHUSHA was born in [Bethlehem of Judea] in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came Magi from the east to Yerushalayim, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Yahudiym? [for we have seen his star rising in the east, and are come to worship him.]” – Cepher Bible

“for we have seen his star rising in the east, and are come to worship him.” 👀👀👀 sound familiar?

—> Deuteronomy 18:10-12 “There shall not be found among you anyone that makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that uses divination, or one that practices sorcery, [or an observer of times]… For all that do these things are an abomination unto YAHUAH: and because of these abominations YAHUAH ELOHAYKA drives them out from before you. – Cepher Bible

—> Deuteronomy 18:10-12 18:10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, [OR AN OBSERVER OF TIMES]… For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.” King James Version

☝☝☝And there you have it. The “wise men” who came to worship the new testament messiah, were OBSERVERS OF TIMES. Fortune tellers. Diviners. Practitioners of divination. Who exactly were these “wise men?”

—> Matt 2:1 “NOW when YAHUSHA was born in [Bethlehem of Judea] in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came [Magi] from the east to Yerushalayim” – Cepher Bible

The Pilgrimage of the Magi

— Matt 2:1-2 “After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, [Magi] from the east arrived in Jerusalem, asking, “Where is the One who has been born King of the Jews? We saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.” – Berean Study Bible

The wise men who came seeking to worship baby God, were Magi. And what exactly are “Magi?”

Strong’s Greek Concordance 3097

Magi
μάγοι (magoi)
Noun – Nominative Masculine Plural
Strong’s Greek 3097 – A sorcerer, a magician, a wizard. Of foreign origin; a Magian, i.e. Oriental scientist; by implication, a magician.

☝☝☝The wise men who came to worship baby God were sorcerers, magicians, wizards, Oriental scientists. Yet, when I state that the reason the new testament messiah was able to walk on water, turn water into wine, make fig trees wither, etc, etc, etc, is because he was a powerful sorcerer/wizard, people get mad!!!

Yet, Deuteronomy 18:12 clearly states:

“For all that do these things are an abomination [detestable] unto the LORD: and because of these abominations [detestable things] the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.” – Deuteronomy 18:12

Why were abominable, detestable men visiting baby God? According to Christians, their messiah is God? Right? Why were abominable, detestable men, who used divination to find baby God, now standing before baby God’s presence and worshipping him? Answer that??

***BONUS***BONUS***

‘Divination’ is the practice of SEEKING the ability to prophesy, among other things. Saul of Tarsus spends the ENTIRE CHAPTER of
1 Corinthians 14, admonishing his followers to COVET the ability to prophesy:

—> 1 Corinthians 14:1 FOLLOW after love, and DESIRE spiritual gifts, BUT RATHER THAT YE MAY PROPHESY.
—> 1 Corinthians 14:39 Wherefore, brethren, [COVET TO PROPHESY], and forbid not to speak with tongues.

“There you go again! Twisting apostle Paul’s words and taking them out of context!!!”

Really? No. Not now or ever. We don’t need to twist Paul’s words in any way. Paul’s unedited, verbatim, words are more self-incriminating and more self-damning than we could ever make them.

In 1 Corinthians 14:1, the word ‘prophesy’ [entry 4395] means:

◄ 4395. prophéteuó ►

Strong’s Concordance

prophéteuó: to foretell, tell forth, prophesy

Original Word: προφητεύω
Part of Speech: Verb
Transliteration: prophéteuó
Phonetic Spelling: (prof-ate-yoo’-o)
Definition: to foretell, tell forth, prophesy
Usage: I foretell, prophesy; I set forth matter of divine teaching by special faculty.

☝☝☝ and remember, divination means: THE PRACTICE OF SEEKING the ability to fortune tell; SEEKING the ability to divine; SEEKING the ability to foretell the future; SEEKING the ability to forecast the future; SEEKING the ability to PROPHESY; SEEKING the ability to predict the future…

And in 1 Corinthians 14:1-39 (the entire chapter*) Saul of Tarsus admonishes his followers to do what Deuteronomy 18:10-12 forbids: seek the ability to prophesy; fortell the future; predict the future; to seek gifts that only The Most High gives to whom He wills, at HIS discretion, according to HIS judgment, HIS preference, HIS pleasure, HIS liking, HIS wish, and HIS desire… not in any way because He is inclined to give specific gifts to covetous individuals based on their OWN desires.

So, aside from Saul of Tarsus concocting more of his “fake it till you make it” gumbo gospel, why were abominable, detestable sorcerers and wizards interested in worshipping baby God? John 4:23,24 says they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth, right? Were the Magi Wizards worshipping baby God in spirit and in truth? Why did baby God accept the worship and gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh, from abominable sorcerers and wizards? Why were male witches looking forward to his arrival?? Why not prophets of The Most High and HOLY men of The Most High?? Why did male witches KNOW he was coming (by means of witchcraft), why were male witches looking forward to him coming, and why did male witches seek him out to worship him?? Why not a group of Torah Observant men of The Most High??? Why a bunch of male witches?? Because baby God would soon grow up to become a powerful socerer and wizard, after the order of the Magi. His kind sought him out. THAT’S WHY.
