In Ephesians 4:8, Saul says:
“Wherefore he [the psalmist David] saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men… And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers…” Ephesians 4:8,11
Saul of Tarsus is telling us that the scriptures say: when he (the man from Galilee) ascended on high, he took captivity prisoner, and gave gifts to people; gifts such as gifts of apostleship, gifts of prophecy, the gift of evangelism, the gift of pastors and the gift of teachers. Or what we call “the five fold ministry.”
Now, what Saul of Tarsus has done here, is he’s STOLEN this Bible verse from Psalm 68:18 and applied it to the man from Galilee and these five gifts he has supposedly given to his church. Yes. Saul of Tarsus is a Bible verse THIEF. He STEALS random Bible verses from other places in the Bible and uses them to “prove” his point. Remember Saul said, “For if the truth of God hath more abounded through [MY LIE] unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?” Romans 3:7
☝☝☝And that’s exactly what Saul of Tarsus has done, by ripping Psalm 68:18 from its original environment, and placing it in the middle of his foreign theology. Now, let’s look at Psalm 68:18 so we can see what a HUGE LIAR Saul of Tarsus is.
Psalm 68:18 NIV
When you ascended on high, you took many captives prisoners; [you RECEIVED gifts from people, EVEN FROM THE REBELLIOUS] — that you, LORD God, might dwell there.
Psalm 68:18 NLT
When you ascended to the heights, you led a crowd of captives prisoners. [you RECEIVED gifts from the people, EVEN FROM THOSE WHO REBELLED AGAINST YOU]. Now the LORD God will live among us there.
Psalm 68:18 CSB
You ascended to the heights, taking away captives; [you RECEIVED gifts from people, EVEN FROM THE REBELLIOUS], so that the LORD God might dwell there..
Psalm 68:18 BSB
You have ascended on high; You have led captives away. [you have RECEIVED gifts from men, EVEN FROM THE REBELLIOUS], that the LORD God may dwell there.
☝☝☝ There you have it. Saul of Tarsus is a LIAR once again. Saul said, “Wherefore he [the psalmist David] saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and [GAVE gifts unto men]… And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers…” Ephesians 4:8,11
Did the psalmist David say The Most High GAVE gifts unto men? NO. The psalmist David said The Most High [RECEIVED] gifts [FROM] men. The psalmist David said men (even the rebellious men) gave gifts UNTO The Holy One of Israel. But Saul flipped it and said the man from Galilee was the one [GIVING] gifts in Psalm 68:18. Almost everything Saul wrote was a LIE. Saul told this LIE to the church in Ephesus (Ephesians 4:8). And when they found out Saul was a LIAR, they FIRED him.
“Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write… I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them [WHICH SAY THEY ARE APOSTLES, AND ARE NOT, AND HAST FOUND THEM LIARS]” Revelation 2:1,2
Remember, Saul of Tarsus sees NOTHING WRONG with using lies to teach his message, if those lies actually WORK. Saul of Tarsus believes, if the truth of God thrives and prospers through Saul’s LIES, why accuse him of any wrong doing?
“For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?” Romans 3:7
I had a former brother (he unfriended me and left all my groups) tell me that Saul was exaggerating in Romans 3:7. Allow me to ask YOU. Was Saul exaggerating?? You have just witnessed Saul of Tarsus TWIST AND FLIP Psalm 68:18 to bear witness to something it DIDN’T SAY. We are NOT to bear false witness against scripture. And that’s exactly what Saul of Tarsus has done. He cherry picked Psalm 68:18 out of its natural surroundings, and transplanted it into his FALSE GOSPEL.
No. Saul of Tarsus is NOT misunderstood. And NO, he was not exaggerating when he defended himself for evangelizing the “truth” of God with lies. Saul of Tarsus was DEAD SERIOUS when he said that. Question: Is Psalm 68:18 talking about the God’s only begotten son GIVING gifts to men? No. Psalm 68:18 is talking about The Most High RECEIVING gifts FROM men. But that didn’t stop Saul of Tarsus from trying to use it to push his agenda, did it? Saul tells too many lies to be taken seriously. And in his own writings, he repeatedly defends himself as a LIAR. Saul invented the “fivefold ministry” concept. Why? Because Saul needed to solidify HIMSELF as a post-ascension, new testament church, apostle. Saul did NOT meet the requirements for being an apostle. But that not once stopped him from vehemently wanting to hold the position and have the title. Here are the requirements for being ordained as an apostle:
“Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be [ORDAINED] to be a [WITNESS] with us of his resurrection.” Acts 1:22
☝☝☝ Those are the REQUIREMENTS for being ordained as an apostle. And Saul of Tarsus did NOT meet the necessary requirements to be ordained as an apostle. But those pesky “requirements” were NOT going to stop Saul from getting his title “apostolic” title. So, he created the “fivefold” ministry so his followers could have titles too. And by giving his followers titles, and the sense of importance that comes with them, they would happily honor him as an apostle. And to validate his “fivefold ministry” he had to prove it was the brainchild of the new testament messiah, and anchor it in the old testament to make it STICK. Even if it meant, bending an old testament verse out of shape, to make it say what he needed it to say. Saul DESPERATELY wanted the title of “apostle” and he was willing to do ANYTHING to get it. In NINE out of the thirteen epistles attributed to Saul of Tarsus, Saul introduced HIMSELF as an apostle. And out of the 22 times Saul was referred to as an apostle, Saul referred to HIMSELF as an apostle 20 of those 22 times. The other two times he was referred to as an apostle, were by his close friend and running mate, Luke. Saul needed “apostle” to be an available office in the post-ascension, new testament church. Just like seats in congress or parliament, Saul needed there to be open seats for NEW apostles in the post-ascension, new testament church. So he invented the fivefold ministries, cherry picked and twisted a verse out of context, from the old testament, to back up his claim, and glued the whole thing to the new testament messiah. We cannot take Saul seriously. Saul is a proven, HABITUAL liar.
“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” John 8:44
